In the era of global commercialization,many enterprises and their leaders at home and abroad pay too much attention to the interests of shareholders and neglect the welfare of stakeholders outside the organizations such as consumers,partners,society and environment.As a result,many scandals have arisen.The theory of responsible leadership,which focuses on and balances the needs of the interests inside and outside the organization,has emerged.Scholars believe that responsible leadership follows moral and ethical norms,can establish the good social image for the enterprise.In the context of the new ecological paradigm era,domestic enterprises are learning and practicing the concept of shared development and green development,in which employees are influenced by organizational culture and constrained by corporate systems and norms,however,the research on the impact of corporate responsibility leadership on employees’ green environmental protection behavior is still at the exploratory stage.Therefore,this study explores the concept,measurement dimensions,influencing factors and outcome variables of responsibility leadership in detail.This paper attempts to examine the mechanism of employee’s pro-environment behavior from a new perspective.First of all,this paper systematically reviews the literature on responsible leadership,self-efficacy,power distance and employee’s pro-environment behavior,and then constructs the mechanism model of the influence of responsible leadership on employee’s pro-environment behavior.Based on the existing research contents,take the responsible leadership as the independent variable,the intermediary variable is the self-efficacy,the dependent variable is the employee’s pro-environment behavior,and the adjustment variable is the power distance,the relationship among responsible leadership,selfefficacy,power distance and employee’s pro-environment behavior was explored.Secondly,299 valid data were collected by questionnaire survey,through descriptive statistical analysis,difference analysis,correlation analysis,regression analysis and other data analysis,as well as intermediary effect,adjustment effect and other empirical tests,the conclusions are as follows:(1)Responsible leadership has positive influence on employee’s pro-environment behavior.(2)Self-efficacy was positively influenced by responsible leadership,and self-efficacy had a positive effect on employee’s proenvironment behavior.(3)In the path of the influence of the responsible leadership on the employee’s pro-environment behavior,the power distance plays a negative regulatory role and the self-efficacy plays a mediating role.(4)Different gender,age,position of the staff in the self-efficacy of the measurement results are significantly different,educational level in some aspects of the measurement is also significantly different.In addition,the theoretical value of this study is mainly reflected in the following aspects:(1)To establish the theoretical framework of responsible leadership and explore the factors that affect the antecedent variables of employee’s pro-environment behavior,the study expands and perfects the research on the relationship between responsible leadership and employees’ environment-friendly behavior.(2)Introducing the theory of psychological capital and considering the mediating effect of self-efficacy,it enriches the mediating mechanism of responsible leadership influencing employee’s pro-environment behavior.(3)Accord with the local cultural situation,consider the moderating effect of power distance,pay attention to the application of power distance in the field of corporate environmental protection.In addition,the practical value of this study is mainly reflected in the following aspects:(1)Organizational level.Establish a good organizational culture and values,reasonable optimization of organizational design,through the self-report scale and projection test to recruit employees who have a positive impact on the organization.(2)Leadership.Maintain a good mental state,provide employees with patient guidance on environmental management,strengthen education and training to improve the leader’s self-efficacy.(3)Staff level.Take the initiative to participate in communication links,constantly improve self-skills,strengthen the sense of internal responsibility and external environment perception.
