Study On The Influence Of Digital Countryside Construction On Farmers’ Income

Ensuring sustained growth of farmers’ incomes is a key link to maintaining the achievements of poverty alleviation,a major way to narrow the urban-rural income gap,an important basis for achieving the goal of universal prosperity,and a necessary requirement for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way.At present,the economic growth is sluggish and the employment pressure is great.The traditional driving force supporting the increase of farmers’ income is gradually weakening.The low growth rate of farmers’ income,the large income gap between urban and rural areas,the imbalance of income among farmers and the increasing pressure of sustainable increase of farmers’ income are urgent for rural development to inject new driving force to drive rural revitalization.The construction of digital countryside takes serving farmers as the basic starting point,improves farmers’ income,Narrows the digital divide between urban and rural areas,promotes the sustainable development of rural economy,and provides a new opportunity for farmers to jointly build and share digital achievements.Digital economy development has become the core driving force of China’s economic growth.It can effectively stimulate domestic demand,increase employment,stimulate consumption and stimulate investment.While promoting rural industrial upgrading and business model innovation,it speeds up the process of rural digital reform and Narrows the gap between urban and rural areas.This thesis takes the impact of digital rural construction on farmers’ income as the object of study,specifically discusses the impact of digital rural construction on farmers’ income level,urban and rural income gap and farmers’ internal income gap.First of all,this thesis combs the mechanism of the influence of digital rural construction on farmers’ income,urban-rural income gap and intra-farmer income gap,and puts forward the hypothesis that digital rural construction will improve farmers’ income level,narrow the urban-rural income gap and expand the intra-farmer income gap.The bidirectional fixed-effect model and quantile regression model were constructed based on the panel data of 1880 counties from 2018 to 2019.The research results show that the construction of digital countryside will not only increase the income of farmers,but also play a slight role in improving the income of urban residents.It has a positive impact on narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents,but has different positive effects on different income groups within farmers,widening the income gap within farmers,and insufficient inclusiveness for rural low-income groups.Heterogeneity analysis shows that digital rural construction has a significant promoting effect on farmers’ income in eastern,central and western regions,while its promoting effect on farmers’ income in eastern,central and western regions decreases successively.It has a significant impact on the urban-rural income gap in the eastern region,but not on the urban-rural income gap in the central and western regions.In other words,the construction of digital countryside will widen the inter-county and inter-regional income gap of farmers.Finally,based on the research conclusions,this thesis puts forward suggestions from three aspects: continuous and comprehensive promotion of the construction of digital countryside,promotion of the digitalization process of agricultural industry,and improvement of digital universality.The purpose is to promote the construction of digital countryside,rural digital transformation,and increase farmers’ income.
