In recent years, the per-capita net income of peasants in Longyan, one city of Fujian, has been greatly improved under a series of preferentially agricultural policies of the government. Although the annual growth rate from 2005 to 2008 was maintained at about 8%, there was a huge gap of per-capita income of peasants between Longyan and other cities in Fujian no matter in absolute income or relative income. This situation had prevented the living conditions of peasants in Longyan from being further improved as well as affected the food production and agricultural products supply. Furthermore, Longyan rural and the whole municipal economic development was not only constrained, but also the rural and the whole municipal social progress was restricted. Obviously, increasing income of peasants is essential for building a moderately prosperous society in Longyan. Therefore, this is a fatal economic issue as well as an important political subject closely related to social development in rural Longyan.Drawing on previous research, this thesis tries to identify the difficulties and the methods for increasing income of peasants in Longyan on the basis of income status quo and its composition there. The first two chapters have made an inclusive research on the existing relevant literature and documents. The third chapter goes into detailed analysis on phasal characteristics and income composition of peasant income in Longyan so as to provide further database for the later study. Chapter IV finds out the main factors for increasing income of peasants in Longyan through establishing multivariable linear regression model and its analysis, providing the basis for the development of relevant countermeasures. Chapter V will draw up an effective way to increase peasant income and suggestions for agricultural policies making for Longyan.Overall, only by combining short-term countermeasures and long-term policies under the actual situation of local Longyan, finally can we solve the problems of increasing peasant income, effectively and efficiently.
