In the microorganism method, luminescent bacterium method in virtue of unique physiological property be applied extensively and be quickly developed and adopted in the last 20 years. This toxicity examination technique have expenses cheap, test fast, sensitive and operate easily etc, but luminescent bacteriums differences, expenses high, repeatability low, operate process tedious, high error. Sensor inconvenience couldn't be use in spot test. Therefore, investigating cost low, operability stronger, could test on the scene become important.Heat radiate from the algae in water as infrared radiation which could be detected by noncontact thermometer. Only algae in microorganisms have energy metabolisms of photophosphorylation and oxidative phosphorylation in the form of respiration and photosynthesis. The heat of algae radiate is more sensitive than other microorganisms. Sensitive algae to toxicant could response time fast, response concentration low. Use the sensitive algae as the test algae to detect the acute toxicity of heavy metals by noncontact thermometer. It is importance of protecting environment in rapid and effect determination of toxicity of the heavy metals, initial studies on algae to heavy metals infrared radiation started in 2007. The changes of 8 algae species infrared radiation affected by toxicity of ten heavy metals could be detected by noncontact thermometer. Algae in test should be set in the same concentration of chlorophyll a. The algae cells movement will produce heat as infrared radiation that could be detect by noncontact thermometer. When one cell produced energy too weak to be detected, groups of cells produced energies as infrared radiation could be detect. With the algae for research object, through acute toxicity test method, the experiment studies on heavy metals to algae infrared radiation responding the toxicity of heavy metals. The experiment included the choice of experiment algae and experiment heavy metals, design the experiment algae dosage index, the dosage of algae, the dosage of heavy metals reagent, test time and test process etc. According to responding variety of algae to heavy metals, it found the sensitive algae to heavy metals through analyzed the acute toxicity of algae to heavy metals response, then found the minimum concentration of heavy metals could be responded of the sensitive algae and the toxicity respond of uniting the heavy metals function. The result of experiment research indicated:The choice of algae as the index to optimize and filtrate could reflect ecosystem system subjected to contamination intimidate and ecosystem effect accurately. Because of algae has photosynthesis and respiration in the meantime, the toxicity reaction to pollution should be more sensitive. The results indicated that infrared radiation of eight algae species have different responded to ten kinds of heavy metals. The minim toxicity variety of pollutant in water could be detected by infrared radiation by noncontact thermometer. The temperature difference response range was 0.04℃~0.41℃. Time respond range was 2.50~7.95minutes. The average absolute temperature difference of eight algae species was 0.19℃and the average of time respond was 5.24 minutes. According to temperature difference, time respond and reagent respond, the sensitive algae Fragilaria brevistriata could be elected. The maximum response of temperature difference to Fragilaria brevistriata was 0.24℃. Fragilaria brevistriata is more sensitive than other algae, and its sensitivity ranges between 0.005mg/L and 0.07mg/L and could represent all algae's level of temperature difference. The sensitive algae infrared radiation is close to luminescent bacterium method.Joint action of heavy metals uses the type of consociation function coefficient method calculation and toxicity intense index method with equate concentration.
