Forging is one of the basic technics used in the machinery manufacturing industry. The open forging hydraulic press, mainly used for the open forging of forging parts, is an application of hydraulic press in the forging industry. In recent years, great demands for large open-forged parts have been increasing in the industries of electric power, ship building, heavy duty machinery, aviation, national defense, etc. The quality and production capacity are very important criteria to judge the development level of a country's industries. Since the open-forged parts are mostly made by hydraulic press, it is generally accepted that the specifications and mounting level of heavy-duty open forging hydraulic press are important symbols of a country's manufacturing capability, economic strength and national defense power.The article, based on the design theories of hydraulic press, put forward the design scheme of 50MN hydraulic press by learning from the structure and design of previous hydraulic forging presses. The article established the finite element model of the main supporting welding parts of the body of the 5000T open forging hydraulic press which is the key structure of the whole machine by using the software ANSYS and reasonable structure simplification. The crown, slide, bed and supporting platform were all given models respectively and analyzed in the strength and rigidity. By doing so, we can get the stress distribution and rigidity status of each part so as to provide data for the optimal design and development of those parts. At the same time, to master the real performance of the machine, we shall track the actual use of the machine to acquire the actual data to analyze and improve.Furthermore, we adopted the command stream method to establish models and analyze when analyzing the supporting platform, which is advantageous in the new structure design. This kind of method is seldom used in the finite element analysis of hydraulic press nowadays; hence this article will be significant in how to reasonably establish finite element models of the body of hydraulic presses and to analyze.
