As a kind of catastrophe accident, combustible dust explosion is a very complicated physical phenomenon. And it is occurred often in industrial production, in coal mine specially. It is very valuable to study the characteristic of dust explosion detonated by shock wave, and to find out the influencing factor of explosion characteristic for the safety in production of industrial department, such as coal mine.Coal dust explosion and aluminum powder explosion experiments are carried out on exploding regularity which detonated by shock wave, based on modification of the 3.1 meter horizontal exploder device in laboratory. Mainly research works and conclusion are list below:1. Theoretical density of methane is calculated on the maximum pressure of explosion, and experimental verification is carried out in addition. Compared the experimental result with the calculating result, it is shown that the experimental facility is stable, reliable, and safe. So the experimental facility meets the challenge of the further experiment.2. Material and thickness of the diaphragm are defined through theoretical calculation and experiment which used in the dust explosion detonated by shock wave. The methane explosion and the positive pressure check are executed according the tested maximum pressure of methane. The examination results shown that the compressive strength are stronger, and that the energy loss of diaphragm is more in the course of burst by shock wave for the clutch gold with 0.08 mm thickness. While for the clutch gold with 0.05 mm thickness, the energy loss is weak, and it generated the stronger shock wave at the meantime. So the clutch gold with 0.05 mm thickness is selected as the explosion diaphragm which used to generate shock wave.3. The combustible coal dust explosion experiment is carried out through changing the dust loading, the dust size, and the strength of shock wave. The changing trend is analyzed on explosion pressure of coal dust. Results shown that there is an ideal dust loading for coal dust explosion, and the explosion pressure of coal dust is maximal on this ideal dust loading. The explosion pressure of coal dust is increased with the coal dust size decreased. The stronger of shock wave strength, the higher of explosion pressure for coal dust explosion.4. The combustible aluminum powder explosion experiment is carried out through changing the dust loading, the dust size, and the shape of aluminum powder. The changing trend is analyzed on explosion pressure of combustible aluminum also. Results shown that the explosion pressure of aluminum powder is increased with the dust loading increased. The changing trend is stable when the dust loading is above 600g/m~3. The explosion pressure of aluminum powder is increased with the dust size increased with same shapes. The explosion pressure of the globular aluminum powder is higher than that of the flaky aluminum powder.
