Belt conveyor has become a major production of transport equipment on coal industry. The belt-driven motor selection will leave a large redundancy rate in order to meet the production needs and to expand the scale. Because of the unbalance of coal mining, the load of belt can not remain stable lead to light-load conditions, it often happen a phenomenon of"Big Horse Pull a Small Carriage"of belt conveyor motor. Generally, the belt run according to the fixed speed, so the belt drive motor work efficiency is reduced, electrical energy is wasted and production costs increase. Reduce the electric energy consumption of belt conveyor has become a pressing problem to be solved, and it be concerned by many engineering and technical personnel.This paper discusses electrical energy-saving way of belt conveyor according to the actual situation of coal production of coal Enterprises. By analysis the characteristics of belt conveyor, receiving rational curve of start-up and the method of control of power balance. In the foundation of resistance analysis, discussing the influence to energy-saving result of the belt conveyer with the rational matching between the speed and the load of belt, choosing the rational speed in the foundation of the load and using a control strategy which applies frequency conversion timing technique.This paper achieved to design frequency conversion timing intelligent control system of belt conveyer,and established PLC control program flow of soft-startup, it put forward a fussy control method in older to improve the control precision. At last, this paper verifies result of energy saving used to theoretical arithmetic. This technology prospect of belt conveyor is wide.
