Try To Discuss The Function Of Properties And Tastes Of Herbs In The Acupiont Application Therapy

Objective: To observe the function of the four properties and five tastes of herbs in the acupoint application therapy.Methods:Choose capsaicin which is the main composition of pungent and hot Fructus Capsici Frutescent, and menthol which is the main composition of pungent and cool mint to make into the external application respectively. The control group use dysmenorrhea stcking for municipal sale. 61 casess of primary dysmenorrhea were selected with certain diagnostic standard and were randomly divided into 3 groups. Applying CV8 on the the first day of every menstruation or felling abdomenache during menstruation respectively. 2 stick every month, applying 1-3 hours each time and three months to a therapeutic course . observe the change of clinical symptoms , menstruation blood and the relationship between related factors and clinical effect before and after treatment.Result: (1) Accumulative point of clinical symptoms and ache decrease with remarkable differnce ( P<0.01) after treatment in the group of capsaicin, menthols dysmenorrhea sticking. But there is no remarkable difference among 3 groups(P>0.05).(2) Capsaicin and dysmenorrhea sticking group have no remarkable difference on each syndrome ( P>0. 05), however, menthol group shows remarkable difference on each syndrome ( P<0.05) . (3) There is no remarkable difference on the relationship between effect and disease serous degree or the disease course ( P>0.05). (4) Menstruation deal, menstruation color, thrombus (menstruation the quality) show no remarkable difference in capsaicin and menthol group after treatment ( P>0.05) . Conclusion: (1)Both the extract of Fructus Capsici Frutescentis and mint applyingon CV8 can improve the dysmenorrhea symptoms with same pungent flavor and different cold (cool) and hot nature. And there is no remarkable difference on the effect between them .It shows that the pungent flavor which is- their common nature is the main factor of the effect, but cold (cool) or hot nature play a supporting role in the treatment. (2) Single flavor herb, even a main composition of it, also can receive certain clinical effect. Therefore, the best ways of acupoint application is little and accurate which is development trend in the future just like the principle of using the medicine such as the basic standard that resort to arms. (3) The operating path of acupiont application is different from taking Chinese herbs orally, therefore the acting machanism is entirely different too, so that choosing herbs in acupoint application therapy can not be according to the theories and standards of taking Chinese herbs orally. In internal use, properties and flavors are both important while flavors play a main role on acupoint application therapy. Therefore, it suggests to take importance to choose flavors of Chinese herbs and consider properties acupointapplication therapy in future.
