| GERD(Gastroesophageal . reflux diseases)is the sympotoms and complications of contents of stomach and duodenum refluxing to the esophagus. It is a common chronic disease. Not only there are great regative impacts, but also it can lead in much economic affording to treat GERD with Western medicine. Increasing clinical reports show that Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating GERD have remarkable therapeutic effects. According to these facts, we have carried out the clinical research of Banxia Xiexin Jiawei Decoction on the treatment of GERD. Banxia Xiexin Jiawei Decoction is a kind of Chinese Traditional compound preparation for the treatment of GERD and its development is based on the assistant Professor Tang Shangyou' s clinical experience of the treatment of GERD.This thesis reviews the researches of modern medicine in GERD on the pathogenesis, diagnostic criteria and treatment and the researches of TCM in GERD on the etiology and pathological mechanism and curativemethods in recent ten years.
