Tong'an dialect,Wenzhou dialect,Heye dialect respectively belongs to Min dialect, Wu dialect and Xiang dialect; the Yuanling dialect is an unclassified Chinese dialect . By comparing their consonants, vowels and tones systems,this paper explores the relations and distinctions of the four kinds of dialects from the angles of the differences of locations and history .The paper mainly makes use of the investigation of the Tong'an dialect and the Heye dialect ,which are made by the author ,and the materials about the Yuanling dialect and the Wenzhou dialect,which have already been published.The full thesis consists of six parts.The introduction part introduces the significance of research and the present studies about this subject.The first part describes the consonants, vowels and tones systems of the four kinds of dialects.The second part compares the consonants of the four kinds of dialects in details, studies some ancient characteristics of their consonants systems, for example, light labial read as heavy labial, 知组 read as 端组,心生书禅邪 read as affricate,匣母 read as [?], and analyzes the distributions of the full voiced initial stops and affricates, and analyzes the evolution of 精庄章组, 见组 and 晓匣组.At last ,it points out the differences of the evolution of the four kinds of dialects.The third part compares the vowels of the four kinds of dialects in details, and discusses their differences of remaining of ancient accents and evolution in accents. It mainly analyzes these phenomena, such as the separation of 鱼虞,the three divisions of 支脂之,the separation of 覃谈,the separation of 豪肴, close chain changes of high vowels in 蟹假果遇,the closing and opening of some phonology,the dynamic evolution of vowels etc.
