Lu Simian is a master in historiography. Lu Simian, who was a middle school Chinese teacher, not only gets great academic achievements in history field, but also has an overall and deep study on Chinese language teaching with some results.Lu Simian extensively explored the significance of Chinese language study, the essence of Chinese subject and teaching method for Chinese subject from the view of human history. My essay will discuss Mr. Lu Simian's Chinese language education viewpoints from three aspects:viewpoint on native language, viewpoint on Chinese language teaching and the modern significance of Lu Simian's Chinese language education thoughts.In the first chapter Lu Simian's Viewpoint on native language, I will mainly introduce that Lu Simian insists ancient Chinese cannot be annulled in the Dispute of Ancient Chinese and Modern Vernacular Language and he advocates that we should follow the rule of learning language when teaching students. In the second chapter Lu Simian's Viewpoint on Chinese Language Education I will introduce Lu Simian's studying on the essence of Chinese subject and his viewpoints on teaching material and teaching. I will focus on Lu Simian's thought that we should take great importance on the students'language practice. In the third chapter The Modern Significance of Lu Simian's Chinese Education Thought will discuss the great significance of Lu Simian's viewpoint on native language and Chinese language education for modern literature development and Chinese language education.
