With the development of the science and technology as well as thedomestic and foreign markets further expansion, the people increasinglyprofoundly realize the reliability is important to the product. Thereliability is an important quality index in mechanical products, and itslevel is of vital importance the competitive power of the products.Forginghydraulic press is the heavy machinery equipment in the machinemanufacture profession, it is one of symbols of weighing a nationalmechanical manufacturing industry level and ability, holds the importantstatus in the national economy, which made irreplaceable contribution forthe manufacturing of key equipments applied to national defense, aerotransportation, energy transportation and metallurgy. The primary workcylinder is one important parts of the hydraulic press, which undertakesthe pressure of the whole system. Its performance is directly related to thewell functioning of hydraulic press. This article has conducted thepreliminary study to the conventional reliable theory and the fuzzyreliable theory, and unified the primary work cylinder of the hydraulicpress to carry on the practical applicationThe reliability and design of the primary work cylinder is studied inthis paper. The major content of the thesis is as follows:Consult the research present situation and the development of thedomestic and foreign mechanical reliability and the finite elementanalysis technological.The failure pattern of the primary work cylinder is analyzed by thefault tree, its reliable model is established in this foundation, and itsreliability is carded on the analysis and the computation.According to the stress-strength model, the static analysis and theoptimal design is carded on using MARC software to the primary workcylinder.Design method of thickness of the primary cylinder of the hydraulicpress based on random reliability is proposed.In view of the judgement about the working states of the primarywork cylinder whether safe existence fuzziness, the analysis and computation of the fuzzy reliability is carried on, the optimal designmethod to the thickness of the primary cylinder based on fuzzy reliabilityis proposed in this foundation.
