As a product of human culture, symbol is the carrier of humancommunication and emotional expression. As well as languages, product also hasthe characteristics of symbol. Products are used to communicate and convey themeanings which people can understand easily. Product semantics introduces themethod of language semantics research into the design field, it can realize goodcommunication between products and users.In the information time, people’s requirements for cultural diversity increaseevery day with the development of economy. Besides function, product shapeshould also contains product’ culture and feelings of special time.With solid design experience, this thesis stands on the basis of innovation ofChinese fan which is named "WangXingji" and introduces the product semanticsinto the traditional industry. The thesis hopes that Chinese traditional productscould be booming the day in the future through the modern theory of industrialdesign and China could have lots of original products with its unique culture.The main innovative points of this paper is the further research of thesemantic conveying form, semantic conveying levels and influence factors ofsemantic conveying through semantic analysis of traditional fan products’similarity symbols and telltale symbols. So that the fan products can convey moremeaning hidden in the culture to the users.
