| With the continuous development of computer technology,3D-CAD has been widelyused in various industries. In the field of casting CAD, the3D software is the inevitabletrend in the future, because it is easier to realize the integration of casting processCAD/CAE/CAM.DISA line has a series of vertical sand moulding machines, it has a high productionefficiency, the riser which used in the casting process design has a standard. In thetraditional sand casting design, it demands the designer to use the Modeling module todesign the mould, before getting the best casting design, it needs to refer to riser standarddata, inspect Casting Manual and export STL file to CAE to get simulated. All of theseoperations will spend a lot of time and reduce the production efficiency of DISA line.This paper analyzes the casting process of DISA line in Shanxi HuaxiangTongchuang casting Co., Ltd. The Riser Process System of Sand Casting on DISA Line isdeveloped, using the secondary development API interface UG/Open provided by UG andVC++6.0development tools. The Riser Process System is designed with the method ofmodularization for different functions. This system mainly includes four parts: theinitializing of the system of sand casting, casting information extraction, the system ofriser design and the system of casting process CAD/CAE. There is systematic introductionon each design theory and development process. The system uses parametric design ofriser design and establishes the corresponding database. The riser design is a core of thissystem, which includes local modulus calculations, riser type selection, riser quickly add,riser parameter modification, riser position adjustment and riser delete. The other corefunction of this system is casting process CAD/CAE, which includes finite differencemesh, SGN file export and casting defects display. This module allows the user tooptimize the casting design and strengthens the contact between UG and HZCAE/InteCAST. Lastly, the application of the whole system is shown through a real casting.The CAD system has been applied in Huaxiang company. The CAD system canaccelerate the speed of technology’s design, specify design process and improveproductivity. |
