Digital mine is a hot spot in the field of mining research,and it is one of main subjects under discussion on how to rationally exploit and utilize mineral resources in each country.However,three dimension model of deposit is the foundation of digital mine and the digital characterization of deposit.As a branch of the real three dimensional geographical information system(3D GIS),three dimension modeling and visualization technology achieving geological regularities such as spatial shape and grade changes of ore body by dynamic feed backing of information,combined with geological logic thought in and spatial visual thought.On this background,some key problems of how to construct and visualize 3d geological models based on 3D GIS are deeply researched and took into practice.And mineral reserve is calculated based on surpac software.The main research contents and results are as follows:(1)Geological data are classified,transferred and dealt after amply analyzed.Data use to construct models are checked and verified to guarantee their validity and reliability.After these work finished,geological database could be built,which lays a foundation for the work of 3d geological models constructing and mineral reserve calculation.(2)ArcGIS Engine using object-oriented programming languages to developing a second to realize the algorithm which used to construct and visualize 3d geological models,with the help of geological database.This method mainly consists of three steps.First of all,multi-DEMs-B-Rep mixed modeling algorithm and IDW interpolation algorithm are constructed.At this step,surface model of ore body can be constructed.Secondly,volumetric models could be constructed when surface model of ore body has been tessellated by tetrahedron.Finally,the visualized program combined with ActiViz.NET for 3d geological models displaying and rendering is realized,and it integrated to the program of modeling 3d geological models.(3)After all data formats of 3D models the surpac software supported are deeply analyzed,this paper chooses PLY file format as the bridge coupled 3D GIS-surpac.Moreover,the input,output and topological reconstruction of 3d geological models stored in PLY file format are implemented by using object-oriented programming language,which lay a foundation for mineral reserve calculation apply to surpac software.(4)When 3d geological models constructed in 3D GIS were input to surpac software,tasks of combinatorial analysis of drill sample data,block and grade models construction could be successively carried out.At the end,mineral reserve is estimated by using distance power inverse ratio method.Methods of 3d models of metal ore body construction and visualization,and reserve calculation based on coupled 3D GIS-Surpac are proved to have a good feasibility and reliability.They can provide the reference for 3d modeling of metal mine in home,and enhance the exploitation quality and management level of mineral resources.
