Green design is an effective method for fundamentally eliminating environmental pollution of manufacturing industry, and is inevitable to sustainable development. The research on green design is attended in the field of mechanical design. As the research on green design is at the start, many problems, especially methods of green design evaluation, are to be settled urgently. In the thesis, green design evaluation methods and their application in water conservancy machinery are studied in depth.The main contents of the thesis are as follows.Firstly, from three aspects of technology, economy and environment, green design evaluation indices system of water conservancy machinery is established. Green design evaluation criterions of water conservancy machinery are analyzed, and green design evaluation system model is established.Secondly, according to the characteristics of existing qualitative indices and quantitative indices in green product evaluation, and deficiency of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) in quantitative indices processing, an effective greenness evaluation method based on AHP is proposed. An application of the method in water turbine type selection is analyzed. Experiments analysis illustrate the proposed method is more effective in objectivity and operability by judgment matrix constructed on quantitative indices values.Thirdly, to the disadvantages of data envelopment analysis (DEA) in solving the greenness evaluation problem with unascertained information on indices weights, an effective evaluation method based on modified DEA is proposed. By experiments, the method is analyzed and compared with others. The results illustrate the method has advantages of no need to normalization of indices values and determination of indices weights, thus subjectivity is avoided and computational process is simplified.Fourthly, combined DEA and multiple criteria decision-making, a greenness evaluation method is proposed to the problem with simple index structure and incomplete information on weights. Then a generalized greenness evaluation method for multi-layer index structure and incomplete information on weights is proposed. The application of the methods in water conservancy machinery indicates that the methods not only solve problems with incomplete information on weights, but also with certainty information and unascertained information on weights, and also have better robustness and operability.Lastly, to the evaluation problems with fuzzy information on indices values and incomplete information on indices weights, introducing fuzzy DEA and modifying its disadvantages, then an evaluation model based on modified fuzzy DEA is established. In the model, the disadvantage of fuzzy DEA in processing incomplete information on weights is avoided. According to the characteristics of the model in solving, two kinds of solution algorithms are proposed. The characteristics and application area of the algorithms are analyzed respectively. By application of the methods in water conservancy machinery, the rationality and feasibility of them are analyzed and proved.
