For the water problems exiting in Taihu Basin, the paper combines the numerical simulation method and the water diversion trial that from the Yangtse to the Taihu Lake, actively gropes for approaches adapted to increase the carrying capacity of the aquatic ecosystem of the rivers and lakes in China.Based on the development of H0HY2 models and the water quality recurrence system analysis of river and lake network, the paper builds the aquatic dummy reach connecting the polder and outside, and adopts the appropriate convection equation. Also the seriatim period of time nesting mode for coupling simulation of one-dimensional and two-dimensional (quasi-three-dimensional) water quantity and quality is brought forward, and effectively achieves coupling simulation and conjunctive calculation of water quantity and quality for large scale river and lake network. Based on the character of microrelief in Taihu Basin, the runoff method of grid calculation for river and lake network is advanced, which make the water quantity and polluter calculability, and guarantee the stability of the calculation. The optimized arrangement mode is established, considering the multi-objective of the water-supply guarantee, water-quality improvement and the safety in flood control. The coupling of water quantity and quality model and operation model is implemented by the means of interaction and practices well; Combined with the movement of water quantity and quality with the assumption that the water quality changes linearly, the inadequately mixed computing solution to the convection equation is put forward, the calculated results have been proved rational and better precision in the research on the water low component, and provides theory foundation for the quantificational study on allied regulation between areas.The research made an effect evaluation and analysis on the diversion incidence and degree of the water diversion experiment in 2002-2003, opened out the eutrophication effecting mechanism affected by rivers around Taihu lake during the water diversion, and the adduced optimizing diversion mode which improves the Taihu lake and rivers' aquatic environment is significant.
