Engineering geology is the basis of engineering construction. In the region of hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering projects located in high mountains and gorges, there are inclement geological conditions, complex geological structures and huge geological information. They bring great difficulties to the engineering exploration, design and construction. However, it is hard for traditional static 2D management and analysis mode of numerous geological data to satisfy the spatial analysis demands of geological engineers and designers. Therefore, a complete methodological scheme is presented to realize 3D modeling and analysis of hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering geological information. It integrated with advanced theories and methods from hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering science, engineering geology, mathematical geology, computer science and systems engineering. And it can solve some major problems such as the integration of multi-source geological data, the complexity of geological bodies, the large amount of geological information, the high analysis demand, the reliability and rapid updating of 3D model. In general, the following four achievements are obtained in this dissertation:(1) According to the features and analysis demands of hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering geological information, the hybrid data structure was put forward, and it integrates with the Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) structure, the Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) model and the Boundary Representation (BRep) structure. It offers the fundamental support to solve the conflict among complex geological structures, large amount of model data and high analysis demands.(2) The reconstruction approach of 3D unified model of hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering geological information integrated with multi-source geological data was presented. The integrated decipher of multi-source geological data ensured that all valid information could be the available modeling data. The database-driven pattern was built by automatic means. According to the classified thought of the object-oriented technique, the 3D modeling of geological and engineering objects were realized based on the hybrid data structure. And the modeling mechanism was alternative. To ensure the validity and objectivity of the 3D model, a series of reliability analyses were processed during the modeling, including the check of geometry, rationality, original data accuracy and feedback information. Then, the 3D unified model was established by Boolean operations between 3D geological objects and engineering objects, and can be updated timely when new data are added.
