In other words, here is one of the most intense region where the human activity and the natural process affecting together. The city waterfront is also the city construction land connecting with the natural water, and the wide-open space edge the water primarily. The design of the city waterfront is always the limelight in the urban planning design recently years, the most important characteristic of the city waterfront programming, without doubt, is that it is the most comprehensive, the most complex, and also the richest challenge in the entire domain plan and design.The development and construction of the developed country city waterfront, has formed many outstanding cases, but our city waterfront transformation is at the growing stage. In many domestic cities, the city waterfront construction pays more attention to the project facility construction, less to its environment landscape, even if has certain emphasis, is only form artificial scenery to add the content, the design is deficient in characteristic, less from the city ecological environment benefit , the city history , the environment psychology behavior to consider the plan and the development construction.This article is based on the former analysis about the city waterfront development construction , takes the city waterfront landscape design as the research object, system proposed the basic principle on the waterfront landscape design, that is, the ecology principle, the shape principle, the article condition principle and the point of view principle, and sums up and induces the design investigation, procedure, content, study-analysis method, about the city waterfront , to instruct the city waterfront landscape design by this practice work to explore a science city landscape plan and design path both protecting the city ecological environment and bringing honor to the city history, conforming to the popular esthetic idea, and taking the user loving-water activity psychology demand into consideration.This article has used the research technique that the theory relates to the practice , combing the material investigation with the spot exploration , takes the city waterfront landscape design theory research as the foundation, takes the Harbin Machiakou waterfront (city sector ) the landscape design as the example, system analysised Harbin Machiakou waterfront ( city sector ) the ecology pattern, the shape pattern, the culture pattern, as well as the point of view pattern characteristic, completed the landscape design projection about the city waterfront (core section ) in Harbin Machiakou, and to institute the landscape environment construction about core in Harbin Machiakou , and provides the reference for the related project practice.
