This dissertation describes the chemical and pharmacology study of three medicinal plants, Daphne odora Thunb. var actrocaulis Rehd., Daphne tangutica Maxim, and Daphne odora Thunb. var. Marginata, especially the bioassay-guided isolation of antiinflammatory and analgesic compounds. From the three plants, 83 compounds in total have been obtained, including 5 new compounds, 2 new natural compounds and 58 compounds isolated from the three plants for the first time. On the basis of bioassay screening, it was found that crude extracts of three plants, DT-5, DT-23 displayed anti-inflammatory activity, DT-5, DT-7 , DT-14 showed analgesic activity and DT-31, DT-35 exhibited inhibition in mice transplanted sarcoma S180 and noted to be antitumor activity. Furthermore, we have set up compounds library of Daphne genus by LC-MS advanced method for the first time, these compounds were isolated from three Daphne medicinal plants.
