Objective: It is proved that it is safe and valid to cure acute cerebral hemorrhage with acupuncturing scalp point-throught-point by the observation of animal models and clinic.Method: We observed 60 patients who are diagnosed as acute cerebral hemorrhage. After and before treatment the amount of bleeding are observed by CT Scanning. The serum creatine kinase, routine blood, urine and stool test as well as the renal and liver function test are observed by conventional biochemical methods. Blood pressure, respiration, heart rate and oxygen saturation, and other indications of life are recorded by Multiparameter Physiological Monitor at each time. The ICH is established by infusing collagenase and heparin into rat caudate. And we detected not only AQP4 and PAR1 gene expression with immuno-histochemistry techniques but also the expression of AQP4 mRNA and PAR1 mRNA throught RT-PCR.The serum creatine kinase, routine blood test as well as the renal and liver function test are observed by conventional biochemical methods. The brain water content is measured by drying electro -thermostat. And the structure of brain, heart and renal of rats are observed by Light and transmission electron microscopical. Results: The amount comparison between after and before treatment is observed that no abnormality of blood, urine and stool routine tests including liver and renal functions are found in both groups. Changes of heart rate, breath, blood oxygen saturation, mean arterial blood and blood pressure of all cases are normal in the two groups before and after treatment. The anomalous electro cardiograph rate is notablely shorter in the experimental groups than in the control groups (P<0.05). There is a significant difference in the absorption rate of intracranial hematomas after treatment between two groups (P<0.05). The curative effect of the treatment group is better than that of the control group. After acupuncturing Scalp Point-Through-Point, the score of nerve function injury degree of model rat decreases as well as brain Water content degree. And it induced a decreasing expression of AQP4 mRNA and PAR1 mRNA in the brain tissues. No abnormality of serum creatine kinase tests including liver and renal functions are found in each groups after acupuncture Scalp. Each of all rats have no injury of heart and kidney in pathomorphology. Conclusions: The treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage with acupuncture Scalp Point-Through-Point Therapy is safe and valid.
