Marx And Engels' Thought Of Ecological Civilization And Its Practice In China

Marx and Engels’ ecological civilization thought is an important guiding theory of the reality of ecological civilization construction. In order to solve the increasingly prominent resource and environmental problems in China’s economic and social development, and promote the practice of ecological civilization construction, it has an immediate significance to excavate Marx and Engels’ ecological civilization thought. The academic study of Marx and Engels’ecological civilization thought and its sinicization is still rare. The paper studies the formation and development of the basic connotation, scientific properties, history, heritage of Marx and Engels’ ecological thought, analyzes China’s ecological problems and its nature and attributes, describes the historical process, Chinese characteristics and great significance of China’s ecological civilization construction strategy, explores the ecological civilization path based on Marx and Engels’ecological civilization thought adhering to the perspective of theory and practice, history and reality, macroscopic and microscopic, and the basic principles in the unity of integrity, practical, science and ideology, and integrated using of system theory, induction, deduction, philology and other methods.The paper first argues that Marx and Engels’classic literature implies a rich ideology of ecological civilization, analyzes the elements and conditions of these ideas, divides the process of formation and development into four stages of budding, formation, development and deepening, and overviews the system of Marx and Engels’ ecological civilization thought.Based on the above, the paper defines the system of Marx and Engels’ ecological civilization thought in five levels of the constituent elements of ecological civilization, i.e., material basis, system security, values and social dimensions. The paper further points out that Marx and Engels’ ecological civilization thought reflects a distinct theoretical quality and important historical status compared to other ecological thought. China’s ecological problems are shown by unsustainable economic development model in the economic field, ecological problems increasingly politicized in political field, the ecological culture’s missing of advanced cultural construction in the cultural field, and adverse social development environment in the social sector.Fourth, under the guideline of Marx and Engels’ecological civilization thought, the practical path of Chinese ecological civilization construction must include promoting the ecological transformation of economic development, strengthening eco-political system construction, promoting the eco-cultural construction, and constructing an ecologically harmonious society.
