A Study On The Value Of National Identity

In short, the value of the national identity issue is the national identity of the stand or fall of people, ethnic or national issues. The seemingly simple question is especially complex at the present days with diversified values and embodies the conflict of monism and pluralism. Inappropriate processing can lead to social contradictions agglomeration, causes social unrest, or seriously can lead to ethnic separatist, national disintegration. Further study of the value of national identity, especially the philosophy of rational criticism of national identity is of great theoretical significance and practical value to construct the value system of national identity. Based on the theory of Marxist value philosophy, on the basis of exploring the position of the value of national identity in the process of national construction and the role of it for development of the people, ethnic and nation, this article revolves around the five issues as the value nature, characteristic, the root of national identity, implementation and evaluation of national identity. Through the value perspective and rational criticism of national identity, preliminarily explores to construct the value system of national identity.To correctly understand the value of the relationship between national identities, the value of national identity should be put into two forms to observe. Firstly, as national identity of consciousness construction, it differs from productive labor; it’s an interactive production of unity of nation and social thought. It emphatically instructs "what national identity is" from the internal contradictions of national identity, namely National Identity. Secondly, as a social phenomenon, the national identity put into the whole social system differs from the phenomenon such as politics, economy and culture and is a kind of means to maintain social stability, promote national and social civilization progress. Through training and improvement of the quality of the citizens, social consciousness and national consciousness, it promotes social progress in the interaction of state and society. It reveals the national identity value, namely WHAT THE NATIONAL IDENTITY IS from the difference between national identity and other social phenomenon. National identity is a kind of value relationship, the value of national identity is also a kind of value relationship. The value of national identity is the identity of national identity; it is built on the basis of national identity, and is the embodiment of the meaning of national identity.The national identity value is established in identity practice or understanding activity of citizen and society. It’s an objective relationship between subject and object which is based on the scale of citizens’"culture-psychology " formation of the country and development rule of "politics-law", is a relationship in which the effectiveness of national identity is consistent with, suitable for, close to the human nature, purpose, need. The relationship is a positive meaningful in the identity activity and social relations, which is accordance with human development and social progress. The value nature of the national identity is a special civil objective activity, its core is value identity, goal is the national consensus, and nature is the social members subject to unified social values. The essence of the value of China’s national identity is mainly manifested by the socialist core values.National identity value generation has its root, in the value of the relationship between national identities; affecting factors of the value of the national identity formation are mainly the internal determining factor-culture; external security factors, system and driving factors-need. Need is the precondition of generation of national identity value, the interests of the value subject is the power of national identity value generation; binding and normative, unity and integrity of national system and system justice is the guarantee of national identity value generation; cultural directivity, cultural ethnic heritage and cultural tie property shows that the culture is generation genes of national identity value.Level of national identity value realization depends on the evaluation of main body, evaluation is a spirit activity with value consciousness towards the object and objective, is an important part of the value research, its essence lies in the rational purpose and regularity of identification of value subject practice. National identity value evaluation refers to the value judgment (theory or concept evaluation) on the formation and development of the national identity and the related factors according to certain value standards and national goals, namely value evaluation of national identity value is the value identity within a certain range based on certain criteria of value judgment. National identity value evaluation has the character of complexity, systematization, purpose and guidance. From the viewpoint of social practice in today’s China, national identity value evaluation standard is the three aspects of socialist core values. The national level with prosperous, strong, democratic, civilized and harmonious as country development goals; social aspects:freedom, equality, justice, rule of law as the value orientation; the individual level, patriotic, dedicated, honest, friendly as personal values. These standards face the evaluation in the form of moral, legal and patriotism, guide to practice of the rational purpose and regularity. Ethics universality, legal norms concreteness and the basic requirement of patriotism constitute the value evaluation standard system of national identity.The purpose of value research of national identity is to realize the value of national identity, so it’s essential to analyze the restricting factors and determine its value orientation, so as to put forward a solution. This paper thinks that fundamentally factors influencing the value realization of the national identity are mainly value appeal differences of value subject itself, not carrying forward of social system structural justice, the lack of citizen education values and resurgence of nationalism. Its value orientation is the idea of socialist core values.The way on the basis of this to solve is:to construct the cultural identity of the Chinese nation’s ideology as the core; to strengthen the education of socialist core values of citizens as the guidance; to strengthen the system construction for security; to resolutely prevent and combat ethnic separatist forces for deterrence. Thus ensure the value realization of national identity.
