National identity refers to the strong sense of belonging of citizens to their country.Citizens hold a recognized and approval attitude toward the country and stand in a firm supportive position toward the country.And the establishment of national identity is beneficial to promote harmonious development of the society,safeguard national security,strengthen the country's ability to fight against foreign risks under the context of globalization and realize the complete reunification of the country.Since the return of Hong Kong to China in 1997,the central government and the local government have been committed to win the return of Hong Kong people' heart and establish the sense of national identity of Hong Kong people through various methods,achieving some success.But in recent years,due to the deficiency of “de-colonization” work of the government,nativism appears alienation in Hong Kong and Hong Kong young people suffer the double impact of materialism and post-materialism as well as the influence of network new media,leading “anti-mainland” social movements to rise one after another on Hong Kong streets.Populism movements that impact Hong Kong's political system and harm the social order of Hong Kong happen occasionally.The contradiction and conflict between Hong Kong is increasingly intense.Moreover,there appears severe deficiency in the political,cultural and ethnic identity toward our country of modern Hong Kong young people.Their national identity has “vulnerability” and “negativity”.Although the deficiency of modern Hong Kong young people's national identity has complex reasons in many aspects,it also shows the current work of the central government and the local government on the establishment of Hong Kong young people's national identity still leaves much to be desired in its effect.Their traditional working mode,ways,methods and the like are gradually not adapted to the new changes appeared in the current Hong Kong society and the new problems and new situations happened in Hong Kong young people.Faced with the new situation of Hong Kong young people's national identity,the central government and the local government must change their working ideas and covert their working ways to promote the Hong Kong young people's sense of national identity.National identity is a kind of subjective consciousness and psychological feelings that can be shaped.Good national image will no doubt strengthen the pride and identity of citizens extremely.And as a special government management activity,the government public relations aim to promote the communication and interaction between the government and the public,increase public's knowledge,understanding and support about the government,shape good government image and create beneficial public environment for government administration through effective broadcasting.Therefore,to inspect the country's image broadcasting and the problem of Hong Kong young people's national identity based on the perspective of the government public relations is beneficial for that the related work can establish new working ideas directed against the new situations and new problems.This thesis analyzed,firstly,the reasons aimed at main problems that show in Hong Kong young people's national identity currently.Then it sorts out the basic situation in the aspect of related work of the mainland government on the establishment of Hong Kong young people's national identity and analyzes problems existed in the work of the mainland government on the establishment of Hong Kong young people's national identity in the perspective of the government public relations.Finally,it proposes a series of countermeasures on the establishment of Hong Kong young people's national identity in aspects of working ideas,methods and technics based on the government public relations theories and view.
