Ethnic identity is the basis of national identity, in religious,the basis of ethnic identity is mainly religious identity. With the development of research about ethnic, religious and national relations, religion has been increasingly important in the relationships between national and ethnic identity. Ethnic identity, religious identity and national identity are inextricably linked. In real life, because religion has a strong faith cohesion, it can diffuse in diverse aspects of national culture, especially for those races which have the long religious history. In recent years, religious extremists in Sinkiang attempt to confuse the public audition, disrupt social order and pose a significant threat to social stability through diffusing religious extremist ideologies. This paper takes Sinkiang area as an example, and it uses the empirical method to investigate the ethnic and national identity. This article analyses the mutual influence of religion on the relationship between ethnic identity and national identity and analyses the reasons and harms. This article attempts to explore the positive interaction between ethnic identity and national identity of ethnic minorities in Sinkiang. It is not only significant for solving the problems of strategic stability and development of China’s national social management issues but also meaningful for the overall development of Chinese socialist modernization.
