The key to building an innovative country relies on the talents, especially scientific and technological innovative talents. Therefore, how to cultivate the scientific and technological innovative talents has become an important issue in the current development of China’s social and educational reform. In order to train a large number of scientific and technological innovative talents, the focus must be put onto the research of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities. The thesis starts to do some research on the structural model and training of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities, using such methods as qualitative research and quantitative research, literature research and empirical research, theory construction and system research, factor analysis and generalization theory. The thesis has done some exploratory research on adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities, which can not only provide the basis for the cultivation of innovative talents, but also can promote and improve the theoretical research of innovative ability.The thesis includes seven chapters. The first chapter is the introduction to the background, issues, purposes, contents, methods and significance of the research.The second chapter puts forward the stance and view this research adopts by summarizing and analyzing the creativity at home and abroad, adolescents’ scientific creativity, adolescents’ technical creativity, adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities and its related theories.The third chapter first puts forward the literary definition of scientific and technological innovative capacity of adolescents by comparison between creativity and innovation. Then is the analysis of the domain-specific and interdisciplinary features of the “4Ps” and innovative capacity in order to determine the operational definition of scientific and technological innovative capacity of adolescents. Based on the research of concept, the thesis constructs the multifaceted and multi-level structural model of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities,which contains three dimensions---target, manipulation and content. Finally, based onthe analysis of the structural model of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities, scientific and technological innovative thinking abilities theory is set on three dimensions: idea generation thinking ability, idea promotion thinking ability and idea realization thinking ability.The fourth chapter first forms the scale of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative thinking abilities according to the structural model of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative thinking abilities. The data in study are collected from an efficient sample of high school students which is used to select good item by IRT method. Then data are collected from an exploratory sample of high school students to determine the factor structure of the scale by GT and exploratory factor analysis method. At last, data in study are collected from a confirmatory sample of high school students to examine the factor structure of the scale by confirmatory factor analysis method. In this way, competing models are established and evaluated.The aim of the fifth chapter is to construct multiple group and two-level structural equation model which based on the structural model of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative thinking abilities and apply it to a large sample of empirical data.The sixth chapter proposes the general teaching approach to cultivating adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities, such as Inquiry Learning,Self-learning, and Cooperative Learning. Then the focus is shifted to establishing highly efficient ways of teaching according to the theory of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative abilities. The Curriculum is designed to promote adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative ability on the basis of domain-specificity. The classroom activity is studied to train adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative ability on the process of innovation and system model of creativity. Besides, the teaching model to improve adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative ability is set up in accordance with the innovative system model and process.The seventh chapter is the conclusions and discussions.Main innovations of the research are as follows:(1)The concept and the model of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative ability is determined through literature review.(2)The model of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative thinking abilities theory is established and evaluated.(3) It uses various Psychological measurement theories and techniques to develop a test of adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative thinking abilities.(4)Course design, teaching measures and teaching model are designed to promote adolescents’ scientific and technological innovative ability.
