Study On Hog Industrial Organization In Shandong Province

Shandong province is both the forth largest hog-breeding and an important hog call-out area in China.Hog-breeding is not only the main body of animal husbandry in Shandong province,but also a strategic position of industry layout in China.Given the backdrop of economic globalization, production standardization and consumption diversification, the development of hog industry is facing new conditions,new environment and new supplydemand pattern. In such a situation,it has become a theoretical and practical problem to be solved that how to integrate the hog industry structure, optimize the behavior of hog farm and households and improve the hog industry performance.Therefore, it has theoretical and practical significance to analyse scale hog-breeding, cooperation performance of hog farms and households and hog-breeding performance.An in-depth and systematic study of hog industry organization,willingness of hogbreeding farms and households to expanding scale,evolution of scale hog-breeding, cooperation degree of hog-breeding farms and households and hog-breeding benefit and efficiency is studied,by comprehensively employing methods like system analysis,contrastive analysis,statistical analysis, structural equation model evolutionary game model, and system simulation, with a reference of the previous studies made by research team of research on hog industry innovation team building program of modern agricultural industrial technology system in Shandong province, based on domestic and foreign literature review, expert interview and field survey, as well as SCP theories.Hog industrial organization characteristics laid the theoretical and realistic foundation for this study.The hog industrial organization characteristics are typically analysed from scale degree, spatial layout, organization degree, breeding efficiency and support policy cognition based on a large number of statistical data and survey data. It shows that hog-breeding scale degree in Shandong province is increasing but the lead over the whole country is narrowing.Hog layout gradually shift to the west and the south of Shandong province. Cooperation degree in terms of hog-breeding cooperatives is low and the effectiveness and efficiency advantages of scale breeding is becoming visible. There are individual differences in the support policies cognitive and there are still relevant policy requirements among hog farms and households.The premise behind the improvement of hog breeding scale degree is that households or farms expand farming scale. Using 849 survey data from seventeen cities of Shandong province, the scale breeding willingness and the other related problems are frequency analysed firstly.And then,the influencing factors of hog-raising households or farms willingness to expand farming scale applying Probit-ISM are determined. Results show that eight factors including education, specialization, whether to join hog cooperatives, attitude towards scale cultivation, risk sensitivity, prospects determine, promotion and origin have a significant impact on hog-breeding households’ behaviors.The evolution mechanism is the specific explanation of scale hog breeding path. The decision-making process and its influencing factors of hog-breeding scale are analyzed by constructing a single population and double population evolutionary game model in this paper. Study shows that, the hog farms or households would expand scale in the case of greater earnings in the single population game.In the double populationevolution game of hog farms and households and the government, the evolution direction of hog-breeding are affected by 9 influence factors like scale-breeding cost, scale-breeding revenue, revenue allocation coefficient(loss sharing coefficient), probability to be punished, social and economic loss and loss sharing coefficient.It is an effective way to strengthen organization degree of hog-breeding by deepening the cooperation degree of hog farms and households. Using 639 survey data from 17 cities of Shandong province,the horizontal cooperation behavior, horizontal cooperation cognitive and horizontal cooperation environment of hog farms and households are firstly analyzed in this paper. the factors affecting the horizontal cooperation degree of hog farms and households are analysed by structural equation model. Study shows that, the horizontal cooperation cognitive of hog farms and households is affected by decision makers’ characteristics,operating and environment characteristics.The cooperation degree of hog farms and households is affected by cognitive characteristics and environmental characteristics, which is consistent with the hypothesis. The case analysis shows that farming cooperatives is an indispensable part in the development of animal husbandry, and farming cooperatives can effectively drive hog farms and households to participate in the cooperation.The analysis of hog-breeding efficiency is the core contents of hog industry performance. The location across China and scale diffierence of hog breeding efficiency are studied based on entropy weight-TOPSIS method and a large number of statistical data. The results show that the cost-profit ratio of retail hog-breeding and small-scale hog-breeding are smaller than the national average and the cost-profit ratio of medium-scale hog-breeding and large-scale hog-breeding are bigger than the national average. Compared with the national top ten major producing areas, the cost-profit ratio is basically flat or even bigger and the main production value and hoglet bid are restricting factors. The cost-profit ratio differs from hog-breeding scales. The main production value, hoglet bid and feed fees of scale breeding is bigger than that of retail hog-breeding while the labor cost of scale breeding is smaller.It is characteristics of this study from the perspective of technical efficiency to analyse hog breeding. Based on statistical data, this paper firstly calculates and compares TFP and its decomposition of the ten main hog-breeding areas by using Malmquist-DEA model,and then calculates and compares technical efficiency, scale efficiency and returns to scale of four kinds of hog-breeding scale.Study shows that, large-scale hog-breeding of Shandong province has obvious efficiency advantage.In Shandong province, the technical efficiency of four kinds of hog breeding scale changes greatly,and the technical efficiencyof scale hog-breeding especially of large-scale farming has obvious advantages than retail hog-breeding.Solutions are the ultimate purpose of this study. The optimization strategies of the hog industrial organization in Shandong province are put forward in this paper. Masures includes behavior regulation of hog farms and households and winding level of hog-breeding,further improvement of cooperative and organization degree of hog farms and households, and government fuctions perfection and optimization of policy environment.
