A Study On Agricultural Cooperation Between Nine Provinces In Northern Of Lao PDR And Yunnan Province Of China

This thesis mainly studies the forms, characteristics, problems and counter-measures of agricultural cooperation between Laos and China. The study is in favor of promoting the sustainable development of agricultural cooperation, the economic and social development, unity and stability of the relations between two countries. This thesis contributes to recognize the border trade zone’s situation, problems and the policy guidance for economic development of two countries, and also contributes to interpret the economic and agricultural cooperation between two countries.This thesis consists of six parts. The introduction points out the practical and theoretical significance of studying problems of agricultural cooperation between Laos and China. The first chapter summarizes the related theories and practice of international agricultural cooperation and their enlightenment to Laos and discuss how to promote the level of agricultural cooperation between northern Laos and Yunnan of China. The second chapter discusses the basis, conditions, form and characteristic of agricultural cooperation between northern Laos and Yunnan of China, and points out the general situation of northern nine provinces of Laos, the natural resource condition, policy and market foundation of Laos-China cooperation. The third chapter discusses the contents and characteristics of the agricultural cooperation between Laos and China. The fourth chapter discusses the effects and problems of agricultural cooperation between Laos and China, and points out potential conflicts between the two cooperators. The fifth chapter discusses the prospect of agricultural cooperation between northern Laos and Yunnan of China, and the countermeasures to solve the problems of cross-border agricultural cooperation and agricultural planting cooperation. The sixth chapter discusses international relations of agricultural cooperation between northern Laos and Yunnan of China, and points out its positive impact to Laos-China bilateral relations, regional relations and regional cooperation.The conclusion is a brief summery of the whole thesis, it points out related government department of Laos and China have to highly value and actively seek solutions to solve the problems of agricultural cooperation. The solutions include providing policy and legal support for cross border agricultural planting through bilateral negotiation, and coordination, strengthening management and handling various disputes, order to maintain the agricultural resource interests of two countries, promote the economic development and harmonious stability of border trade, and two countries’ cooperation relations on politics, economics, society and culture.
