Luoyang Near The Modern City Planning History Research

Thesis focuses on modern urban planning of Luoyang city and analyzes the evolution of modern urban planning of Luoyang city, aiming at revealing the evolution rules of Luoyang urban planning. And then the relations between Luoyang urban planning and politics, economy, culture and society is summarized. Furthermore, the significance of Luoyang to modern urban planning of china is identified through the comparison between the urban planning of Luoyang and that of other cities.The first chapter of this thesis introduces the reason for the selection of the research topic, the research significance, the research methods, the research object and the research content. The necessity of this research is also pointed out by reviewing the past related research. The second chapter introduces the development of Luoyang, giving Luoyang's geography, history, urban construction, the old city planning and layout, etc., which is helpful in making clear the process of the modern urban planning of Luoyang.The third chapter introduces the periods and the reason of the modern urban planning of Luoyang. The forth, fifth and sixth chapters divide the modern urban planning process of Luoyang into three periods:the urban renewal and new district construction period (1909-1920), the urban expansion and comprehensive planning period(1921-1938), and the war destruction and planning stagnation period(1939-1949), according to the historical background and the characteristics of the modern urban planning and the urbanization process of Luoyang. These two parts analyze the historical events and the theory and practice of modern unban planning of Luoyang and explore the period characteristics of Luoyang urban planning. And the process of modern unban planning of Luoyang city is divided into five periods:the recovery and initial period(1949-1956), the turbulent and stagnation period(1957-1978), the rapid development and transformation period (1979-1992), the system establishment and completion transformation period(1993-2006), and the mature period(2006to now). The sixth chapter shows the morden historical events and the theory and practice of modern unban planning of Luoyang and explores the period characteristics of Luoyang urban planning since the foundation of New China. The seventh chapter summarizes the characteristics of modern urban planning of Luoyang, by analyzing the process of urban planning of Luoyang, the nature change of modern Luoyang city and the culture and the urban construction of Luoyang city.The eighth chapter, by analying the typical case of Luoyang Model which came into being during the planned-economy period, further sums up the experiences and lessons, as well as its value of the day., so as for us to have a better understanding of the significance of studying modern-and-contemporary Luoyang's city planning.The ninth chapter draws a clear conclusion on contemporary and modern planning of Luoyang City from historical revolution and theoretical depth, and discovers some researching weakness and developing perspectives in the future.
