Objective: To study the clinical effect of KJNHJ for the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC) of dampness-heat type, and preliminarily probe into its mechanism. Methods: 60 cases as treatment group and 30 cases as control group for oral adimistration of KJNHJ and salicylazosulfapyridine (SASP) respectively to observe the clinical effects of the two in these following indexes: Erythrocyte sendimental rate (ESR), CRP, IgGJgM and IgA in serum, intestinal SIgA, CD4+ and CD8- content, TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and CD54,CD62Pin serum, etc. Results: The total effective rate of KJNHJ, superior to that of SASP (P<0.0 1), is 88.33% in treating UC; the main symptoms of diarrhea and mucopurulent bloody faeces are improved by KJNHJ better than by SASP (P<0.05), as well as the intestinal pathological changes; compared with SASP, KJNHJ can decrease the level of ESR and CRP, but with no notable difference between the two (P>O.05); KJNHJ can lower the abnormaly increased level of IgG and intestinal SIgA in UC patients; KJN7HJ can increase CD84 content and decrease CD4+/CD8+ ratio and the level of TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and CD54,CD62P in serum. Conclusion: KJNHJ is an effective drug in treating UC and its mechanism could lie in regulating the immunity, supressing the release of TNF-α IL-6 and IL-8 and other CK and the expression of CD54 and CD62....
