PartⅠSummarized the literatures of Bupleurum root in Chinese medicine researching, medicinal materials, medicine resource, identification, chemical components and pharmacological action.PartⅡChiefly studied the chemical components and drafted the quality standard of Altai Bupleurum root; Primarily analyzed the chemical components in aerial part of planting Bupleurum root.Ⅱ-A Altai Bupleurum root is dried root of Bupleurum krylovianum Schischk.ex Kryl and mostly grows on the hillside from 1200 meters to 2000 meters height or shrubbery in Xinjiang. It is widely used as local drug, but no systemical research on this plant has been reported and so there is no experimental basis for clinical application. In this thesis, Altai Bupleurum root were identified in medicinal materials, description, microstructure, physical and chemical character .In this thesis, 29 compounds were separated from Altai Bupleurum root. On the basis of chemical and spectral data, the structures were identified as: saikosaponin a, saikosaponin d, saikosaponin c, saikosaponin f, saikosaponin b3, saikosaponin b2, 2"- O-acetylsaikosaponin a, saikosaponint, rutin, 3"-O-acetylsai- kosaponin d, 3,5,7-trihydroxy-3′,4′-dimethoxyflavone, quercetin, isoliquiritigenin, hyperoside, 5,2′,4′-trihydroxy-6,7,5′-trimethoxyflavone, 3"-O- acetylsaikosaponin b2, 5,8-dihydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyflavone, isorhamnetin, kaemferol, adenosine, angelicin, oleanolic acid, daucosterol, heptacosanoic acid, coffeic acid,β-sitosterol, triacontanol,α- sinasterol and glucose. 3 flavonoids and all the 10 triterpenoids in Altai Bupleurum root were same as that in Bupleurum root; the other 6 flavonoids in Altai Bupleurum root were different from that in Bupleurum root. The 29 compounds were separated from Bupleurum L. for the first time. The contents of saikosaponin a,saikosaponin c and saikosaponin d in Altai Bupleurum root were measured by HPLC and contrasted with that of Bupleurum root. A quality standard of Altai Bupleurum root was drafted to provide reference for clinical practice.Ⅱ-B The components in aerial part of planting Bupleurum root were separated. On the basis of chemical and spectral data the structures were identified as stigmasterol,β-sitosterol,quercetin,kaemferol,kaemferol-7-O-α-L-rhamoside,isorhamnetin-3-O-β-D-pyranogalactoside and rutin. They were similar with that of Bupleurum root, but no triterpenoid has been found in the aerial part of planting Bupleurum root.
