Daoxian Song poem school is very influential in modern poetic circles of China. So far, the reasons for the rise of the school, their opinions about poetry and their poetry achievements have got different degree of research. The research about Daoxian Song poem school has become one of the hot topics in the study of modern poetry. However, the research has three problems which we have to face. First of all, the opinion about Daoxian Song poem school as a poem school can be established is controversial. Secondly, the evaluation standard about Daoxian Song poem school is influenced by political factors. Next, much of the ideal about Daoxian Song poem school has followed the view of Chen Yan, Wang Pijiang and Qian Zhonglian and so on. Therefore, the space of the research about Daoxian Song poem school is still wide. Based on this fact, the paper chose Daoxian Song poem school as the research object.The research method of the paper is analyzing the works of Daoxian Song poem school, with the help of other documents such as historical works, local chronicles, and using the knowledge of history, culture and linguistics, combined with the character, learning, ambition and experience of Daoxian Song poem school.The purpose of the paper is to analyze the role of Deng Xianhe, Cheng Enze, Qi Junzao and Zeng Guofan in the forming process of Daoxian Song poem school, to explore the characters of their poems and their common in personality, to reveal the value of their existence. And on this basis, to discuss how the scholars in historical turning period use their poems to express their closely-question and thinking about life and the age which they live in. And then explore their inner world, and research the complex relations of literature, society and life. The paper is composed of nine parts.The first chapter analyzes the reason for the rise of Daoxian Song poem school. The classical poetics of Qianjia period lay particular stress on learning at last which laying the foundation for Daoxian Song poem school. The scholars' mental state and the academic atmosphere of Jiadao period have an affect on the development of poetics. And the phenomenon of poets, scholars and senior officials becoming one promotes the development of scholar poetry. These aspects led to the formation of the song poetic style.The second chapter analyzes the differences about characters, talent and experience of the members of Daoxian Song poem school. And conclude their similarity in poetics concept and creation. And then analyze their uniqueness in learning from the song poetry.The third chapter analyzes Deng Xianhe's poetry and his status in Hunan modern poets, the relationship of Deng Xianhe, Zeng Yu and Cheng Enze. And demonstrate Deng Xianhe's affect on the forming of song poetry in Daoxian Period.The fourth chapter analyzes Cheng Enze's experience, learning, poems and his affect on Daoxian Song poem school. The fifth chapter:analyze Qi Junzao's experience, learning, poems and his affect on Daoxian Song poem school.The sixth chapter analyzes the relation between Zeng Guofan and Daoxian Song poem school. The form of Zeng Guofan' Song poetics has nothing to do with Cheng Enze or He Shaoji. His respect for Huang Tingjian does not start a new poetry ethos. But he promotes the development of song poetry in Xiantong period indeed. The subject consciousness of his poems is striking. And there are similarities between his poems and Gong Zizhen' poems.The seventh chapter analyzes Zheng Zhen's character, experience, knowledge, poems and how he becomes famous. Zheng Zhen's poems are full of life consciousness, epic spirit. His poems about landscape and idyllic scenery are with his characteristics. And under the help of Mo Youzhi, Li Shuchang, Zhang Yuzhao, Zhang Zhidong, Chen yan and so on, he becomes a famous poet.The eighth chapter analyzes He Shaoji's character, experience, knowledge and poems. And focuses on the analysis of the poets he learns from when he writes poems.The ninth chapter analyzes Mo Youzhi's character, experience, knowledge and poems. And focuses on the analysis of Mo Youzhi's attitude of the fame and fortune which in his life, and also the aesthetic interest of his poems.In short, the poems of Daoxian Song poem school reveal a strong sense of suffering consciousness and bear spirit. So the evaluation that Daoxian Song poem school is behind and conservative does not accord with the facts obviously. Although their poetics are not beyond the past and still belong to traditional poetics category, their imitative poets such as Du Fu, Bai Juyi, Su Shi and Huang Tingjian when they write poems are unique. And it proves that they try to innovate. At the end, many members of Daoxian Song poem school do not reach a very high level, and their innovation is without success. But their innovation and failure reveal a kind of powerlessness which shows a decline of their age. So the existence of Daoxian Song poem school promotes the change of the poetic style and provides a kind of reference about the complex relations between poems and time.
