Before the appearance of Chinese academic education on the early stage of 20l century, as an important way of inheriting and developing Chinese art, rich in conventional artistic education resources, continuing an age-old respectable and deep conventional culture of the Chinese nation. On the Chinese ancient artistic history, artistic peak occurred repeatedly, schools of art appeared in succession and masters of art came forth in large numbers, during this period, artists accumulated rich experiences of artistic education. Excellent theories of these conventional artistic education still played very important role in present academic artistic education.This text described the emergence and development procedure and the content methods of Chinese conventional artistic education from Chinese ancient craftsman's artistic education, education of painting of man-of-letters and official academy as well as private academy. The second section tapped and abstracted the excellent theories and teaching rules on "teaching" and "learning" in conventional artistic education in a wide-ranging cultural atmosphere. The third section conformed the real rationality existed in conventional artistic education by using the Western modern and present psychology and pedagogy, projecting its present value. The important point of fourth section is expounding the application of conventional artistic education's excellent theory in practice, illustrating its valuable reference and enlightenment function to the reform of Chinese modern and present artistic education as before. At the last section, the text forecasts and conceives development of Chinese artistic education. From the angle of innovation, and on the historical basis of historical investigation of conventional artistic education, by using modern and present excellent psychology and physiology as theoretical base, this research job implement practical application finally, which is a research mixed by theory and practice by using documentary method and investigative method as well as the tracing and analyzing of cases , gathered by theory, speculation and experiences as well as positivism.Today, under the constant shock from post-modem pan aesthetic culture to the sense of modem education, the sense of post-modern course and other international educational new ideas which attach great importance to the recurrence , richness, relations and rigor of courses wide vision of Chinese artistic education workers, facing many problems such as reassuring the value of Chinese culture and advocating its nationalism as well as structuring artistic education system with Chinese characters. Especially on the wave of national eighth educational reform and under the situation of developing and trying out new standard of course. We should survey theory of conventional artistic education and tap its deep value. It's the second time of recognizing educational resources of conventional art, as the same time, it is very helpful to greatly enrich theory of modem artistic education , and actively promote deep introspection and reform of system of present academic artistic education.
