A Research On The Skeletons Of Xindianzi Graveyard, Helinge'er County,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Geographically, south-middle Inner Mongolia stretches, north-south, from the southern foot of Yinshan Mountain to the provinces of Shanxi and Shanxi, west-east, from the Hetao(bend of the Yellow River) Plain in the northwestern Ordos Plateau to the steppe in the Zhangbei Plain;In administrative division, it includes Ih Ju League,Wuhai city, and the area south of Yinshan Mountain in Bayannur League, Baotou City, Hohhot city and Ulanqab League. Owing to its particularity in geographic location and natural condition, it become an area with farming and nomadic cultures interacting upon each other, a strategic zone for historical dynasties in the Central Plains and ethnic minorities' states in North China, and a stage of the Tufang, Guifang, Xianyun, Rongdi, Xiongnu and other ethnic groups from the Shang and Zhou periods onward. The paper aims to reconstruct the racial types of ancient population in the Northern Nomads belt along the Great Wall of China.In this dissertation, including eight chapters, is aimed at researching the human skeletons from Xindianzi graveyard, Helinge'er County, Inner Mongolian Province.
