As an analytic language, Modern Chinese shares quite many differences between the agglutinating Mongolian, among which the rich of prepositions is one of the biggest one. As we know, modern Chinese is a kind of language which is lack of significant grammatical markers, the expressions of the syntagmatic relations rely mainly on the word order change and the empty words. Prepositions in particular, on one hand take the place of the case to show the syntagmatic relations of the sentence , and on the other hand, play the same role of the case of time in modern Mongolian. Therefore, taking the constrastive analysis between basic space prepositions of Chinese and the basic case particles and time words of Mongolian could help us to figure out the similarities and differences of the two languages. This artical focus on the study of the corresponding expressions of the Chinese basic space preposition in Mongolian, aiming at exploring the relationship between the two languages in the aspect of expressing the basic space relation. By analysing the 9 basic space prepositions-"zai,dao,cong,zi,you,li,xiang,wang,chao", we tried to figure out the corresponding expressions of them in modern Mongolian. Based on the basic conclusions of this article, we also tried to summarize some typological features of the two languages in the human space expression system. It concludes that although lacking grammatical markers, Chinese space prepositions to some extent play the role of the case markers exist in Mongolian and some other languages. Carrying on the very kind of comparative analysis this article did could help the students who want to acquire Chinese to form a better understanding of the basic space prepositions in Chinese, and , at the same time, to provide some useful ideas for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
