Preposition in Chinese language is usually positioned if front of a noun or a noun phrase, and works as an adverbial phrase which indicates’place, time, direction, manner, objects, and cause in a sentence.(Adverbial) Preposition in Korean language usually plays a role in making an adverb associated with time, place, manner, and cause as well. Due to the similarities between two, students learning both languages have a tendency of mistaking one for another. This is a common error and also a natural process when learning a foreign language because our native language system has a big influence on new language learning. This thesis is focused on understanding a proper usage of Chinese prepositions such as "从,由,在,到" in a various context, and analyzing the similarities and differences between Chinese propositions and Korean adverbial postpositions.I did further research on a pattern of common errors that Korean students make using theses prepositions "从,由,在,gc ", and considered the errors in all their aspects especially finding the cause. This research will help Chinese learning students understanding Chinese language in depth and encourage them to continue their journey of lea rning.
