In recent years, supply chain management is a hot topic among international manufacturing industries, consultant companies and research institutes. It's also a special issue on frontier research in manufacturing and logistics. Firstly we focus on the methodology research in the formal modeling of supply chain. This is a kind of theoretical research work, aimed at to build an analytic model, use the model to analyze and compare the structures of different supply chains, and support the decisions about the supply chain optimization. Secondly, we complemented a information system integrating for agile supply chain operations. This is a actual application of supply chain management theory and information technology, aimed at to share information among the member-entity in the supply chain, and to promote the supply chain operating. Beginning with the two definitions about supply chain, we have done the following: (l)Proposed a modeling method, which combine the advantages of formallity and visualbility. (2) Proposed several algorithms, which could consider the factors such as production cycle, cost, manufacturing and transportation capacities, and choose the best structure for supply chain. (3)Designed a supply chain modeling and analyzing prototype system----MeatSCM, developed it with matlab language, and use the system to calculate the speed, cost, flexibility for several microcomputer supply chains. (4) DISCUSSed the information technology for supply chain management, proposed a three-dimension supply chain conceptual model. (5)Conducted a case study of the application information technology in supply chain management. Implemented a integrated cross-enterprise supply chain information system, which has gained very high economical effectiveness.
