Research On The Core Competence Of Regional Industries

SThe core competence of regional industries determines the orientation of a country's (or a region's) economic development and its comprehensive competitiveness. To develop and update the core competence of regional industries is of vital importance to strengthen the regional economic competitiveness. By utilizing the method of putting practice into theory, the author of this dissertation has made an analysis on the mechanism, the content, the forms, the ways of development, and the ways of analysis and evaluation of the core competence of regional industries.In the first part (Chapter One), the goal and the significance of the research of the core competence in regional industries have been made on the basis of the problems forged in the course of the regional economic development. At the same time, the author has absorbed the previous research achievements and made extensive use of others' thoughts and approaches in the similar research.In the second part (Chapters Two, Three and Four), analysis has been made of the basic factors and the source of origin of the core competence in regional industries. The basic theories of the core competence in regional industries are the regional economic theory, the industrial economic theory, the competition strategy. The author made clear the connected concepts and the theoretical source and direction of the core competence in regional industries. The author also analyzed the effect and the relationship of the basic factors of the core competence in regional industries on the formation and the action of the core competence of regional industries such as, the regional natural resource, location factors, social environment and the government administration. The core competence of regional industries comes from the structural competitiveness, the organizational competitiveness, and the elevating capacity of regional industries.The content of the core competence of regional industries mainly dealt with in the third part (Chapter Five). Being different from the enterprise competitiveness and the national competitiveness, the core competence of regional industries refers to the peculiar capacity of resource disposition and the capacity of market pioneering of regional industries. It can be seen from two aspects: the comparative advantage and the competitive advantage of regional industries' competition.The development (innovation) and the analysis and evaluation of the core competence of regional industries have been studied in the fourth part (Chapter Six and Chapter Seven). The fundamental way of developing the core competence of regional industries lies in regional innovation and the stresses on the choice of strategy and tactics in taking the innovative forms. Being a research of the systematic index and the methodology, the analysis and evaluation of the core competence of regional industries is the basis of the development and the management of the core competence of regional industries.
