* This thesis follows the strategic management process of strategy analysis, strategy formulation, and strategy implementation, taking Sichuan Electric Apparatus Corporation (SEAC), analyses and describes how a company such as SEAC builds the competitive strategy with core competencies and gain lasting competitive advantages in domestic and international markets.* This paper contains four parts:* The first part, or chapter 1 and chapter 2 First, the author has briefly reviewed SEAC and its international environment and domestic situation. Furthermore, the writer has mainly demonstrated the importance of introducing competitive strategies with core competencies for gaining lasting competitive advantages and growth in the future.* The second part, or chapter 3. Strategic management principles have developed through three stages. The first one is external environment analyzing---based, the second is competitive strategies---based, and the up-date one is competitive strategies with core competencies, it's resource and competence---based. The writer has recognized SEAC competition with core competencies, proposed SEAC competitive strategies with core competencies process: introducing core technology and applied technology, leading in sales and manufacture, and then developing competition with core competencies. The author has also described the process for building the competition with core competencies, including the distribution of resources, the coordination between general strategy and competitive strategy with core competencies, the reformation and strategic trading alliances.* The third part, or chapter 4. It is an urgent task for SEAC to forward the improvement of technology innovation process and to find effective and measures to solve these problems. This chapter gives a strategic framework which will prompt the building of competition with core competencies.* The fourth part, or chapter 5. This chapter describes the management of competitive strategies with core competencies including resources, manager's vision, core technology, technology innovation, different operation and management, and motivating talent.
