A Positive Study Of R&D Industrialization

This paper is under the background of the development of the Knowledge Economy. Based upon the Theories of Industry Economics, It analyzed the industrialization of Research and Development(R&D). The paper argues that as the important source of knowledge and technology, R&D is now facing a changing from an action inside organization to an action outside and becoming a direct money-making behavior of enterprise. And it leads to an R&D industry. This changing has suffering some special characteristics comparing to the traditional R&D and the general industries. Now the demand and supply of industrialized R&D are rising quickly and it indicates a bright future of the R&D industry. There are 8 chapters excluding the introduction. First, the introduction brings up the main purpose of this thesis through two cases. And then puts forward the corresponding research method, the structure of the thesis and the conclusions respectively. Chapter 1 mainly defines the meaning of R&D Industrialization and other relative concepts. Then it focuses on the characteristics, motivation, trend and appearance of the R&D Industrialization. Chapter 2 analyzes the R&D Industrialization from a view of economic efficiency. It points out that industrialization may improve the efficiency of R&D by the division of labor and lower the transaction cost. Furthermore it argues the relation between knowledge economy and R&D Industrialization. It points out that it is knowledge economy, which has offered the motivation and space for R&D Industrialization. In Chapter 3, it analyzes the future development of the R&D industry, from a view of the demand for industrialized R&D. First it gives a summary of the general situation of R&D and the demand of industrialized R&D all across the world, especially in the developed countries. Then it analyzes the situation of R&D and the demand of industrialized R&D in china, as well as the demand in different industries respectively. Chapter 4 analyzes the R&D Industrialization from the view of supply. Based on the R&D industry-chain, it focuses on the supply of capital and human resource as well asthe R&D enterprises. Chapter 5 is about the pricing of industrialized R&D products. Because it is a typical uncompleted market, the pricing industrialized R&D products is more complicate and indirect. So it gives some case study. Chapter 6 analyzes the performance of the R&D industry, include the income and income structure. It argues that the R&D Industrialization may promote the transform rate of technique products into Consumer goods. Chapter 7 focuses on the management of R&D enterprise. It makes a conclusion that R&D enterprise should practice Knowledge Management, for R&D enterprises are all knowledge organizations. And is very important for R&D enterprise to capitalize the Intelligence of the human resource.Thus in chapter 8, it mainly analyzes the environment of development of the R&D Industrialization in China, includes the system and market environment. And then some suggestions have also been given.
