Lack of the wisdom of knowing his own limitations and abilities, education had done something that should not be done and had undertaken the blame which would not have been his duties. So what we had been short of is the knowledge of education himself. Because personalities determine the fate, the best way to help education to understand himself is to study education's personalities from three facts,"Who am I?"" What should I do? " "What can I do? ".Two of the most important personalities of education are power and right. We analyze the phenomena and the facts of power in education from the following field of vision: in terms of the definition of education-education as the "deliberately effect"; of basic medium-knowledge; of the social efficacy-defending the social order; and of the specifics of education-discipline and punishment, examination and evaluation, and etc. We can say, education has power-character, and some of the relations in education are the relations of power.One the other hand, we analyze the right personalities of education from the following sides, in terms of the starting point and the pursue-the education of Man basing three natural rights: right of life, right of property and right of freedom; in terms of the right of receiving education of citizen-people can realize the remedies of individual rights consciously after being educated; of the teacher's educational right-teachers have the right to go on the liberal education reform basing on profession autonomy; of system autonomy of education basing on its relative independent; and of the education as the social public policy-education itself is the mechanism of social stratification and social mobility. We conclude that education has right-character, and is a social practice struggling to realize the natural right into actual right.Education's power personality foucuses his attention on the order of state and society, and what he considers how to carry on, to maintain and to create order by its power-conduct. Education's right personality concentrates his efforts on safeguarding the right of individual and society, which means a liberal pedagogy, and what he aims to do is how to realize the positive liberty and substance freedom of individual, to uphold negative liberty by positive liberty, to protect lay-given liberty by substance freedom.Actually, what determines the destiny of education is neither the education's power personality nor his right personality, but the tension between the two personalities. Any education practice is one knot-dot on the continuum established by the two personalities, which means the genealogy of education's power personality-right personality. On this education continuum, education practice must be right-tendency. Firstly, because of the inherent logic of the relations of power and right-right has priority to power, right habits to defend while power to expand, and right is individual but power is public, and etc.Secondly, the social situation that education is put into also needs such a deviation for right- toward a right age and a constitution-democracy basing on individual-civil society-state coexist. In order to ensure the practice of education's right-tendency, education practice must adhere to three principles: humanity, democracy and public.There are two kinds of values and social facts behind the two personalities which human pursue for eternally: freedom of individual and order of society. The education between power personality and right personality, and right-tendency is striving for the harmonious of liberal individual and order society. This education must be one towards order-liberalism.We also expound the education towards order-liberalism in terms of the logic of social order. There are two kinds of order: spontaneous order and constructive order.
