The Change Of The State-owned Enterprise's System: From The Combination Of Government Function And Enterprise Management

Based on a case study of Jiang Factory which has a history of more than one hundred years, the dissertation tries to explore the changes of the state-owned enterprise's system in China sincethe founding of new China from the view of studying the relationship between the state and the society. One of the basic hypotheses of the dissertation is that China's state-owned enterprise system have undergone the process of changing from combination to separation of the government function and the enterprise management By taking the state-owned factory as a part of the state, the dissertation analyzes system's structure and the operation of the state-owned factory when discussing the stage of the combination of the government function and enterprise management By regarding the state, state-owned enterprise and workers as relatively independent active subjects, the dissertation aims to reveal the interaction as well as the relationship of the state, the enterprise and workers when studying the present-day state-owned enterprise. According to Jiang Factory's case, it can be seen that the relationship between the state and the state-owned enterprise is undergoing the transformation from administrative subordination to property rights. Meanwhile, the state-owned enterprise is restructuring as well. Though the restructuring in the two aspects is still undergoing, it represents the change of relationship between the state and the society.Chapter â…  introduces the historical change of Jiang Factory from a state-owned enterprise of pre-liberation days to a socialist state-owned enterprise, and explores the cause of forming the combination of the government function and enterprise management's system. It is also the result of centralized leadership of the Chinese Communist Party as well as the immediate result of the state monopolizing the economy.
