Usually, the private-owned enterprises in China are owned by families and are managed by family management system. Some scholars in China take negative opinions on family enterprises. However, through a survey and reading reference abroad and home, we argue that their opinions are not scientific because they have not conducted sufficient investigation. Although family enterprises have some shortcoming, they are not an outdated term. Although the management system of family enterprises in China should be improved, they are also play very important role in many family enterprises currently, especial in their initial states. Compared with other enterprises, family enterprises have some unique characteristics. In order to study these characteristics and support their decisions, this dissertation will study the development rounte, status quo of family enterprises and management. As a matter of fact, in a society governed by the Communist Party such as China, the development of family enterprises is a particular economic phenomenon in the world. So the studies on the development route of family enterprises in China will make great contributions to not only family enterprises theory but also strategies management for family enterprises. Based on the cases studies of Maonong Company and Hope Group, this dissertation puts forward to the development rounte of family enterprises, including background, origins, keys, and cooperation with other families, establishment of limited companies, and development in the future. Then the dissertation employs Grey System Theory to analyze the development route for family enterprises.Furthermore, this dissertation compares Maonong Company with a non-family and same industry company in order to find out different points, and compare Maonong Company with a family company in different industries in order to find out the common points. Based on the comparation, this dissertation analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of family enterprises in China. Any strategies are made in a special enterprise culture, and management thoughts are important factors to effect enterprises culture and development of family enterprises in China. Through a survey, we find out that the management system in family enterprises in China such as Maonong Company have been effected by Confucianism.Moreover, we study the influence of Confucianism to family enterprises in China, connotation of Confucianism in business aspects, family enterprises' absorbing from Confucianism business thoughts. This dissertation also points out the negative influence of Confucianism to family enterprises in China. Studies on the state quo of family enterprises in China are an important base for making decision on strategies. Based on the studies on development route and state quo of family enterprises in China, this dissertation put forward the strategies for family enterprises in three stages. First of all, in the beginning stage, we think that family enterprises in China should pay attention to the accounting control, democratic decision, the relation of proprietary rights and operation rights, and develop trend of industries. Secondly, in the families' cooperation stage, we put forward the strategies such as choosing partners. Thirdly, we propose the strategies for family enterprises in the mature stage. It should be pointed out that enterprises strategies include several aspects. But this dissertation focuses on the aspects that are vital for family enterprises in China. Therefore, we put forward human resource management strategies and capital management strategies.To sum up, this dissertation analyses development route of family enterprises, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. In addition, the author has made carefully research about the characteristic of family enterprises in different development stages, and then point out the existing problems and put forward key management strategies of family enterprises for development accordingly.
