Farmers' Income Of Main Grain-producing Area In China

The grain production of main grain-producing area accounts for more than 70 percent of the national grain production It also accounts for more than 67 percent of national grain sown area. It safeguards the national food security.Arfter adopting of the reform and open door policy, farmers' income in main grain-producing area has been increased tremendously. However farmers' net income in main grain-producing area has grown more slowly than national level. Their growth rate was unstable. This thesis is to study the sources of farmers' income and the factors which affect farmers' income in these areas. The thesis consists of four parts:In the first part the theories being applied into this study are reviewed and commented. The research goal, the research methodology and the research theory and the practical significance were elaborated. Main grain-producing area and farmers' income were defined.Main grain-producing area has advantage over planting crops. It occupies a unique position in national food security in the second part. The status of farmers' income in main grain-producing area discussed. The relationship between fanners' income and grain production and economic development was analyzed .The composition of farms' income was also studied. It is found that the income gap between farmers and urban residents become large. Secondly, factors which affect farmers' income were studied. The factors included that profit planting crops droped .Farmers' organization degree was very low. In addition, farmers' quantities are huge, but they don't act consistently. So farmers' influence to the government is extremely small .Farmers have no ability to make government supply advantageous system assignment. The growth of farmers' income was affected by the unfavorable system. Moreover, agricultural policy supporting main grain-producing was made up by the center government. Allowance was given to the farmers who planted crops. Agricultural tax was reduced or remitted. Agricultural policy created the advantageous external condition, and the farmer obtained the actual benefit. Through studying foreign country support farmer, the author attempt to obtain valuable experience which is helpful to Chinese policy-maker.The third part mainly is the real demonstration research. This article uses the first material which was obtained by investigation. Method that farmers were divided into five equal parts according to their income is used. Quantity model for farmer income is set up. Base on data of microscopic farmer family, the author analyzed the relationship between farmers' income and variable such as family characteristic, engaging in the non- agricultural work and so on. It was found that the more fanners are educated, the more their income is high. Moreover skill which is adapted to agricultural is advantageous to the growth of farmers' income. The family scale is still factor which affects farmers' income. The large family's income is often high.Finally, the author presents the conclusion of this thesis. Policy recommendation increasing grain-producing area fanners' income policy was put forward: Making strong grain industry, the establishment grain-producing area stable growth investment mechanism, the establishment grain-producing area, the benefit mechanism links up grain-producing area and area selling grain.
