Supply Chain Principal-agent Problem

The difference of goals and responsibilities among the supply chain members results in disaccord between their local interests and the supply chain goal. With that has brought about the decline of the the supply chain performance. Issues of how to design the cooperation mechanism to harmonize the supply chain members' actions with the supply chain goal and improve supply chain performance have arouse a growing interest among both academics and practitioners.An important criteria that will be used to measure the the supply chain performance is coordination. There are two classes of cause that affect the coordination of the supply chain. A classical example is that of double-marginalization. the other example is that of asymmetrical information. There already exist plenty of literatures about the double-arginalization. The effect of information asymmetry on the supply chain performance arouse the attention recently. However, there are still not systemic research on this problem.In this dissertation, we do research on supply chain problems with information asymmetry based on the theory of principal-agent. Through proposing the problem , analyzing the problem, solving the problem and theory research, we have a systemic analysis on the supply chain problems with information asymmetry, which solve the low efficiency of the supply chain resulting from information asymmetry by and large. The main research and innovation are organized as follows:In the introduction, propose the problem: the information asymmetry is an essential character of the supply chain, which have an important effect on the supply chain coordination. So the research on supply chain contracts will be more practical when we consider the effect of the information asymmetry.In the second part, analyze the problem: have an analysis on the cause and character of the the supply chain with information asymmetry, and provide an effective framework that allows us study the supply chain problems with information asymmetry . Furthermore describe the character and the harm resulting from information asymmetry, then we propose four scheme to solve the problems.In the third part, solve the problem: construct five classes of supply chain contract...
