The key issue in the present diplomatic policy of China is how to boost the stability and cooperation among the circumjacent countries in a multilateral manner, and form a benign interaction among the internal development, regional restructuring and globalization. A multilateral framework of cooperation is taking shape in the circumjacent area of China, as can be seen from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the talks between China and Association of Southeastern Asian Nations (ASEAN) on free trade zone, the strategic cooperation between China, Russia and India, and the six-party talks on the Korean nuclear issue, etc. Russia, a power that bordering China, is a key element in the diplomacy of China, both at the bilateral level, the global level within the regional multilateral framework. In light of this, this dissertation, based on the relations between China and Russia and from the perspective of the globe, region and sub-region, examines the development of the relations between China and Russia within the international multilateral framework, including the UN multilateral mechanism, regional organizations and the mechanism of regional talks and coordination. Through the examination of all these mentioned above, this dissertation is aimed at the revelation of the room for and limits to the development of Sino-Russia relations, including the drive for the development, respective policies, postures, and the challenges they face, and draw a conclusion about the future of Sino-Russia relations and the mechanism of these multilateral international mechanisms.Apart from introduction and conclusion, this dissertation is divided into five chapters that comprise of three parts.The introductory part deals with the status quo of the researches into the Sino-Russia relations, the impetus of this dissertation, and the methodology and significance of itThe first part, i.e. the First Chapter "China and Russia Against the Background of Economic Globalization and Political Multipolarization", is in the nature of an explanation for the theoretical background.
