With widely use of network and information technology in education, the issue how to provide the effective support to teachers' professional learning becomes a hot topic in educational technology field. Learning Performance Support System (LPSS) is a meaningful way to support teacher learning, through using some technique, such as expert system, blurred logic, manual neuron network technology, and so on. LPSS is based on the PSS (Performance Support System) and EPSS (Electronic Performance Support System) theory and technology. It can offer the capability of immediate answer and solution when the learner needs help in their job.This dissertation focuses on the theory and technological methodology in order to suit to the teachers' professional learning, and to solve several major issues: The purpose, target and content of the teachers' professional learning; The key problems with respect to technology applications in the teachers' professional learning; The function and structure design of the system for supporting teachers' professional learning; And the realization of the teachers' professional learning support system based on the LPSS.Based on the issues above, the dissertation involves six chapters.Chapter one introduces the background and the value of this study topic, also including the content of the study.Chapter two includes an overview of the teachers' professional learning, in which involves the function of the teachers' professional role, the structure of the teachers' professional literacy, and the character and content of the teachers' professional learning.Chapter three analyzes the technological application in the teachers' professional learning. It gives the basic point, the principle, the modes, and the features related to the technological application in the teachers' professional learning. Also much analysis of application cases are offered in this chapter.Chapter four describes the functions and structure of the teachers' professional learning system based on the LPSS, in which the concept of LPSS is given and the detail feature of each component of the system is provided.Chapter five discusses the technological realization of the system, including the interface design, data organization, Case-Based Reasoning (CBR), and some typical modes.Chapter six gives a review and conclusion to whole study. It is also discussed with respect to the further study and development of the system.
