In the view of the institutional change, How to comprehend the way of choice behavior of man ? whether all of us are rational choice which is benefit-maximize oriented. The writer argues that the way of choice of man is multiple. In the real daily life, the rational choice is always restricted by circumstances and conditions. It can only perform under proper institutional circumstances supporting by definite capital. That is to say, institutional circumstances is the macroscopical background of rational choice , meanwhile the human capital and social capital one person owned is a microscopical premise. By virtue of lack of capital and restriction of institutions, perceptual choice exists besides rational choice.Based on the analysis of key hypothesis of rational choice theory, the dissertation discussed the restriction of this theory itself .The complexity and uncertainty including the influence and restriction caused by irrational factors such as perceptual ones in reality are all the dilemma that the rational choice theory can not conquer. And then economics itself and sociology bring forward critiques and challenges about rational choice theory, involving those of three hypothesis: the hypothesis of maximization, of rational man and of steady preference.The challenges rational choice theory has to face is studying in the dilemma and limitation of personal choice behavior. Either tentative principle theory or preference reversal theory as well as the future theory are all the fruit of cognitive psychology . Kahneman is a representative one of them.
