With the development of the society, more professional differentiation appears. To people of the modern world, professional choice is a solemn question which refers to their existence and whether their values can come true. So, how individuals choose their profession, how are their experience of choosing, what the professional frame is, and which factor helps or limits their choice. These all are the problems the paper are going to solve.The author explores the former theories and research results of professional choice, borrows their research methods and results, then puts forward an efficient sociological frame—multidimensional model of professional choice with the author's personal research. The model shows how four factors within three dimensions influence people's professional choice, and how the branch elements of every factor interact each other. In the theoretical sphere, the author borrows some ideas from the human capital theory,the professional prestige theory,the social capital theory and the theory of state regulation. The data is from many scholars' statistics and analysis with the author's case study.Structurally, the paper includes three parts:The first part: including two chapters. The first chapter "Introduction" and the second chapter "Review on profession and professional choice". The main content includes: the first chapter describes the meaning,cause,method,outline and main concepts of profession. The second chapter is about the theories on profession and professional choice of many sociologists such as Weber, Durkheim, Holland.The second part: including four chapters. The third chapter "human capital and professional choice" describes the influence of the individual's human capital on professional choice, typically the author chooses two elements—individual professional psychological .diathesis and individual knowledge & skill—as the unit of the microanalysis. The fourth chapter "professional prestige and professional choice" describes those professionals' theories, and describes the prestige's influence on professional choice as the median-analysis. The fifth chapter "social capital and professional choice" describes theories of social capital, and then elaborates the influence of individual's social capital on professional choice. The sixth chapter "professional autonomy and professional choice" describes how macro-frame limits people's professional choice, the relation of state regulation and professional autonomy. The second part is the main content of the paper, and its main content are describing theories,analyzing data and studying case.The third part: including two chapters. The seventh chapter "multidimensional professional model" draws the outline of model by unifying the above elements and factors, and then describes the influences of these factors and elements on the professional choice. It's the most invaluable and core part of the paper. The eighth chapter "conclusion" is the comprehensive critics of the paper, mainly focuses on forecast and prospect of the study of profession.The author, on the basis of the theories of the former scholars and sociologists, suggests that the three dimensions should be considered when the question is being developed, so the outline can be explicit. The innovative part of the paper is the multidimensional professional model which including micro-factors,median-factorsand macro-factors.
