This paper focuses on the machanism of families' decision on childreneducation in rural China. Based on the analysis of characteristics andinfluence fators of the rural migration employment participation, thispaper explores its impact on children education performance. Negativeeffects on the performance of mathematics and Chinese tests are found,which are caused by the behavior of member migration employment andfather amigration employment respectively.At the same time, this paper examines the effect of migrationemployment on the time allocation and payment related to childreneducation. Compared to other families, families participating migrationemployment have cut down the time allocated in children education.However, no evidence has been shown that of education expense is addedin those families. The mechanism of migration employment families'decision on children performance is discussed and relative policyimplications on non-agriclutral employment and education in rural Chinaare given finally.
